Here we are. Monday. Now, I am not naïve to think that life isn’t busy seven days a week. And yet. I also believe that Mondays can signify time to step back onto the treadmill of life and either very rapidly walk or run, run, run, run.
Kutana, by nature of being Kutana AND being a German Shorthair Pointer, loves to rapidly walk. And run, run, run. No matter how much she may have already ran, ran, ran, the stallion energy in her maintains a reserve for bursts of energy. Why I say stallion energy is because little miss Kutana can sound like a horse running past a window at home when one of those second, third, or twelfth winds inside her charging system refuels her body.
Example in point. Just a few days ago Kutana and I went for an early morning hike while my husband and our other fur kiddo stayed curled up watching a movie. Kutana hiked twice the distance I did, of course, as she zoomed ahead and then raced back before quickly spinning a circle and speeding ahead into the near horizon before repeating this back-and-forth lap again. And again. And again.
And again. (grin)
After our hour excursion, we arrived back home, Kutana jumped out of the jeep, and turned into a stallion. Our yard became her wide-open range in which to run, run, run. So much so, my husband asked if we actually went for our hike! (ha!)
Ah, but little miss joyful bursting with energy stallion (and Carrot Monster, cousin to the Sesame Street Cookie Monster because Kutana LLLLLOOOOOVVVVEEESSSSS carrots) also knows how to pause. Kutana knows how to step off the treadmill, unplug, and recharge. To recognize when she needs to find her grounded-ness again. Her balance. To fill back up so that she can go, go, go.
Even if only for a brief few minutes.
Sometimes Kutana will go as far as to cover herself in a blanket when she feels she needs to pause. (grin) I turned my back on her mild zoomie energy as she jumped onto the bed and when I looked because I was mildly suspicious of the loud quietness I was now hearing, the camera and I caught joyful bursting with energy stallion Carrot Monster Kutana tucked under a blanket in her pause.
May Kutana inspire you this week to give yourself many pauses on the busy life treadmill that awaits your fast-moving feet.
